HILBERT'S KORN GIVEN 2023 PBA  REGIONAL TOUR PAT PATTERSON AWARD

The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) announced the 2023 award winners from the 2023 PBA Regional Tour season during a banquet at the BowlTV PBA Regional Players Invitational January 3rd, 2024.

Ken Korn, Hilbert College's Women's Bowling Coach, was honored with the East Region Pat Patterson Award.

The top PBA and PBA50 player, the top first-year player and one additional individual from each of the seven regions were recognized for their performances at the banquet.

The top PBA and PBA50 player, as well as the top first-year player, were honored based on their performance during the 2023 PBA Regional Tour season.

Additionally, the Pat Patterson award is given annually to a member in each region who exhibits outstanding effort in promoting the PBA.

EAST REGION
Player of the Year: Tom Sorce, Blasdell, N.Y.
Rookie of the Year: Robert Shine, Yonkers, N.Y.
Senior Player of the Year: Troy Lint, Blandon, Pa.
Pat Patterson: Ken Korn, Cheektowaga, N.Y.

Troy Lint, the PBA50 National Player of the Year, was also named East Region PBA50 Player of the Year as he won two of his three regional events.

Korn is responsible for bringing the PBA back to Buffalo. Over the years, the PBA has staged events in various centers in the Buffalo area, more recently at AMF Thruway Lanes, which no longer exists.  The last time the PBA had been in Buffalo was in the early 1990s. Through Korn's efforts, he brought a PBA Regional, the Greater Buffalo Open, to AMF Airport Lanes each of the past three years.
