The Saint Vincent College women's bowling team went 3-0 on Sunday, and 9-1 on the weekend, in the second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference round robin tournament of the season, earning the #1 seed in the conference championships.
William Smith College also finished 9-1 on the weekend, but finished in second place due to the head-to-head tiebreaker. Alvernia University rounded out the top three with a 8-2 record over the three days.
Saint Vincent closed the weekend with three wins over host New Jersey City University, Pitt-Bradford, and Penn State-Altoona. Against NJCU, Skyy Nicholls (206) and Abby Justice (194) had the top scores as SVC won 879-740. In the Bradford match, the duo again led the way, with Nicholls shooting a 233 which featured seven consecutive strikes, while Justice added a 221 with six strikes. Sabine Strickland (213), Justice (196) and Marissa Jones (179) had the top scores in the final match of the weekend, an 831-796 win over Altoona.
Individually, Nicholls was the top bowler on the weekend, recording a 188.50 average. William Smith's Colleen Jump was second with a 183.00 average, while Alvernia's Mia Siminitus with third with a 181.80.
Saint Vincent and William Smith both end the regular season 18-2 in AMCC matches, and have been declared regular season co-champions. The Bearcats hold the tiebreaker advantage due to a 2-0 record against the Herons this season to clinch the top seed in the AMCC Championship Tournament.
