#2 WILLIAM SMITH, #3 ALVERNIA SET TO CLASH IN AMCC CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

#2 William Smith started off with an upset victory over top seed Saint Vincent College in Match 5 on Saturday morning. The Herons took the team traditional format by more than 100 pins, earning a 997-890 win. The Herons saw three different bowlers with scores over 200, including Caitlyn Anschutz (224), Colleen Jump (219), and Amber Pidlypchak (206). Saint Vincent came back strong in the Baker 5 game series, tying things up with a 949-886 victory, forcing the Baker Best-of-7 tiebreaker. William Smith took the first three games in the Best-of-7 series, but Saint Vincent bounced back to take the next two. William Smith ended the match with a 214-194 victory in game six to win the series and Match 5. With the win, William Smith advances to the AMCC Championship on Sunday morning, while Saint Vincent returns Saturday afternoon to take on Alvernia in the final elimination match of the tournament. 

In Match 6, Alvernia earned the quick 2-0 victory over New Jersey City, as the Golden Wolves took both the traditional team and the Baker 5 game series. Alvernia won the traditional match 953-840, as Emily Huntley led the team with a 223 and Reaghan Smith added a 205. Alvernia put the match away in the Baker 5 game series, winning 846-804. Alvernia advances to Match 7 on Saturday afternoon, while New Jersey City has been eliminated from the tournament. 

Alvernia came out hot in Match 6, outscoring Saint Vincent 971-923 in the team traditional format. The Golden Wolves were led by Morgan Dupont's 235 and Frankie Kelly's 224. Alvernia kept things rolling in the Baker 5 game series, outscoring the Bearcats 987-891, eliminating Saint Vincent from the tournament, and advancing to the championship match on Sunday. 

#2 William Smith and #3 Alvernia will clash on Sunday morning in the AMCC championship match, slated for 9:30am at Pines Plaza Lanes. Both the Herons and the Golden Wolves are looking for their first AMCC title.
