BOWLERS SET FOR AMCC CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

AMCC bowlers will hit the lanes this weekend for the 2023 AMCC Bowling Championship Tournament at Pines Plaze Lanes in Pittsburgh, PA. First round play will open up on Friday morning with #4 Pitt-Bradford taking on #5 New Jersey City University, and #3 Penn State Behrend facing off with #6 La Roche University#1 Saint Vincent College and #2 Medaille University will each receive first round byes.

Top-seeded Saint Vincent College went 19-1 in regular season play and is looking for its first AMCC title. In the traditional format, the Bearcats are led by Abby Justice, who averages 184.3, and ranks third in the AMCC. Jackie and Monique Koehler top the Bearcats in Baker play, averaging 18.958 and 18.846, respectively.

Defending AMCC Champion, Medaille University, went 18-2 in the regular seaosn and enters as the No. 2 seed. The Mavericks have won the past five AMCC bowling titles. Sarah Radt not only leads her team, but also the entire conference, in both traditional (196.87) and Baker (19.967) averages. Mackenzie Smith averages 175.97 in traditional play for the Mavs, while Paige Herndon has recorded a 18.236 Baker average, ranking her fifth in the AMCC.

No. 3 Penn State Behrend enters the tournament with a 15-5 conference record. Leading the Lions is Sidney Basta with a. 180.71 traditional average, ranking her seventh in the AMCC. Bella Pilyah leads Behrend, and ranks 11th in the conference, with a 17.72 Baker average.

With a 13-7 AMCC record, Pitt-Bradford has earned the No. 4 seed. Junior Brooklen Garvey leads the Panthers, and ranks second in the AMCC, with a 185.2 traditional format average. Junior Sarah Newland leads the team with an 18.04 Baker average. 

New Jersey City enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed with a 12-8 record in conference play. Junior Rebecca Hoff leads the Gothic Knights, while ranking fourth in the AMCC, with an 184.10 average in the traditional format. Hoff also tops her team with an 18.17 Baker average.

Rounding out the field, with a 7-13 record, is No. 6 La Roche. Senior Ashley Kennedy leads the Redhawks with a 17.27 Baker format average.
