AMCC BOWLERS COMPETE ON DAY ONE OF CHAMPIONSHIPS

In the first round of play, #3 Pitt-Bradford and #4 Penn State Behrend each picked up victories to advance to the afternoon session of Day One of the AMCC Bowling Championship Tournament. 

In Match 1, Penn State Behrend defeated La Roche University. La Roche started out the morning strong by winning the traditional team format 937-789. Ashley Krivansky led the Redhawks with a high score of 230, while Bella Pilyah led the Lions with a 174. Penn State Behrend came storming back by winning the five-game Baker series 865-708, forcing a best-of-7 Baker tiebreak series. The final series went all seven games, with the Lions prevailing 1214-1127. 

Pitt-Bradford picked up the victory over Mount Aloysius College in Match 2. The Panthers began by winning the traditional format 793-774, with Brookelyn Garvey leading the way for the Panthers by rolling a 196. Pitt-Bradford then picked up the victory in the Baker five-game series 948-747 to take the series and advance to the next round of play. 

#1 Saint Vincent College started out Match 3 with a 921-750 victory over Penn State Behrend. Jackie Koehler led the way for the Bearcats with a 237. The Bearcats handled the Lions in the five game Baker set, coming out with the 811-642 victory and advancing to the winner's bracket on Saturday afternoon.

In Match 4, #2 Medaille College defeated Pitt-Bradford 945-825 in the team format with the Mavs' Sarah Radt rolling a 209. The Mavs continued to keep things rolling by picking up the 931-747 victory in the five-game Baker series to advance to tomorrow's winner's bracket.

The competition will continue tomorrow morning at 9:30am when Pitt-Bradford and Penn State Behrend square in the elimination bracket, while Saint Vincent and Medaille will face each other in the winner's bracket.
