MEDAILLE, SAINT VINCENT ADVANCE TO AMCC BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Medaille College (N1) and Saint Vincent College (N2), the top two seeds from the North Division, will meet next Saturday, March 20 for the AMCC Championship. The winner will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA national tournament.

The semifinals began with the No. 2 seeds winning both traditional format match-ups. In Match 1 of the day, S2 New Jersey City University rolled an 851 while N1 Medaille came in with a 784. In the second match, N2 Saint Vincent College beat out S1 Mount Aloysius College by a score of 940-890. Gothic Knight freshman Angela Baginsky led the way for NJCU with a 193, while sophomore Arielle Wallace was right behind her with a 192. For the Bearcats, sophomore Olivia Emmonds recorded a 224, while senior Dani Koehler scored a 215.

In the Baker matches of first round play, it was Medaille who came out on top with the 866-723 victory over New Jersey City. Since the two teams split the traditional and Baker formats, Medaille was the overall victor of Match 1 with 1,650 TPF to New Jersey's 1,574.

Saint Vincent swept Match 2 by also picking up the win in Baker play. The Bearcats won the 5-game Baker series over the Mounties 837-762 to move on to the winners bracket.

Matches 3 and 4 were a battle within the divisons, as N1 Medaille sqaured off with N2 Saint Vincent in the winners bracket and S1 Mount Aloysius and S2 New Jersey City battled it out in the elimination bracket.

In Match 3, Saint Vincent came out strong by winning the traditional format over Medaille, 934-922. The Bearcats were led by Jessica Guesman's 223 and Dani Koehler's 198. In the Baker match, it was Medaille who came back to earn the 930-834 victory, claiming the TPF tiebreaker of 1,852 to 1,768. With Medaille's 2-0 record on the day, the Mavs paved their way to the AMCC Championship. 

New Jersey City still wasn't ready to go home, as they came out strong in traditional play during Match 4. Taking the match by a score of 832-805 over the Mounties, Rebecca Hoff's 200 was tops for the Gothic Knights. New Jersey City stayed hot, winning the Baker match 848-710, and advancing to Match 5 against the Bearcats. 

Saint Vincent and New Jersey City battled it out in Match 5 of the day, a Best-of-7 Baker Series. The winner would advance to the conference finals, while the losing team would be eliminated. 

The two teams took the series to the full seven games, with Saint Vincent pulling out the 4-3 victory (27-152, 213-160, 220-181, 204-160, 131-158, 157-159, 159-150) to punch their ticket to the AMCC finals.

Koehler led the AMCC in traditional format with a 206.5 average, with Guesman right behind her with a 204.0. Mount Aloysius senior Michelle Bello and the Bearcats' Emmonds tied for third on the day in the traditional format with a 196.00. Rounding out the top five, with a 191.0, was Medaille freshman Kendyll Jaskier.
