MEDAILLE LEADS 5-0 AFTER DAY ONE OF AMCC ROUND ROBIN #2

After Day One of the second AMCC Round Robin of the season, Medaille College sits in first place with a 5-0 record. 

The Mavericks defeated New Jersey City University in the first match of the day with a commanding 992-780 victory. The second match of the day was much closer, as the Mavs downed Pitt-Bradford 832-807. In the third match of the day, the Mavs took down Penn State Altoona by a score of 1012-626. 

The fourth match of the day was against Mount Aloysius College, and again the Mavericks won the pivotal match up. The match was coming down to the wire, then Makenzie Yesis and Sarah Radt each struck out in the tenth frame to take the victory (869-856). The Mavs again took the fifth match to complete their undefeated day by taking down La Roche University by a score of 844-652. 

Along with her strong performance against Mount Aloysius, Radt bowled a 222 against NJCU and a 218 against Altoona. Ysobel Conrad bowled all five games for the Mavericks, bowling four out of five games over 200.

Penn State Behrend, D'Youville College, Mount Aloysius, and Saint Vincent College are all tied for second place after day one with 4-1 records. 

Individually, Penn State Behrend's Brianna Lundy led all bowlers with a 206.6 average, while D'Youville's Ashley Len is right behind her with 206.4. Conrad rounds out the top three with a 199.0 day one average. 

Overall in conference play this season, Medaille and Saint Vincent are tied for the lead with 13-1 records, as the teams are battling it out for the coveted first seed in the AMCC Championship later this month. Teams will return to action tomorrow (March 8) to set the final seeds for the conference tournament.
