
The AMCC saw three softball student-athletes named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region VII Team.
Penn State Behrend senior infielder Jocelyn McNany was selected to the First Team as the designated player/utility non-pitcher position. The AMCC Player of the Year is earning her first All-Region honors and will move onto the All-American ballot. McNany led the conference and ranked 18th in DIII statistics with a .492 batting average. She is also tied for 10th in the nation in doubles (19) and tied for 23rd with 63 hits. McNany, an All-AMCC First Team selection, also led in slugging percentage runs (40), home runs (7), and slugging percentage (.875). McNany tied for second in most hits in a season in the AMCC record book. She also broke the program record and tied the AMCC record for most doubles in a season with 20. McNany tallied a hit in every game except three and had 12 stolen bases.
Mount Aloysius College junior pitcher Jessica Koptcho and Mountie junior shortstop Sarah Henninger have both been named to the Third Team. Koptcho and Henninger were both AMCC First Team selections this season, while Koptcho was also named AMCC Pitcher of the Year. Koptcho led the AMCC in all major pitching categories in conference play. She recorded nine wins, including a 9-0 record with seven complete games in AMCC play. Her 0.83 ERA against conference competition was tops in the league, while ranking 24th nationally in ERA. Her 81 strikeouts in conference play also led the AMCC, along with her 9.61 strikeouts per game average.
Henninger finished the season second in the AMCC with a .557 batting average in conference play. Against AMCC teams, she was first in the league in in runs scored (21), first in hits (34), second in triples (3), and second in in total bases, while finishing fourth in slugging percentage (.787).
The NFCA announced 383 student-athletes from 170 schools comprised the All-Region Teams. The awards honor student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with selection to one of three teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region.
