
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona OPP Caleb Fries had another great week to help the Lions go 2-0 in AMCC play to finish out their regular season. In Tuesday night's 3-2 home win over Mount Aloysius, the freshman totaled 28 points on 22 kills, eight block assists, one solo block, and one service ace. He followed that up with 15 points on 12 kills, two aces, and a solo block in Friday night's home 3-0 victory over Houghton. On the week, Fries totaled 43 points (5.4 points per set), 34 kills (4.25 kills per set), 10 total blocks (1.25 blocks per set), and three aces (0.38 aces per set). He also swung at a .294 attack percentage.
BEST OF THE REST: Hilbert OPP Nik D'Andrea had a dominant week for the Hawks with 32 kills, hitting .391. (27 kills in match with Behrend), adding eight aces, 13 digs, and five blocks...PS-Behrend OH Daniel Easly averaged 3.00 kills per set in a 3-1 week for the Lions, as he tallied double-digit kills in two matches, posting a team-best 20 kills vs. Hilbert, he recorded 12 kills and nine digs against Grove City, recording 1.46 digs per set, while adding seven blocks and six service aces for the week...Mount Aloysius MH Tayshaun Johnson would record 2.38 kills per set for the Mounties last week, with his team going 1-1 in that stretch, as he led the team with .485 hitting in that stretch, adding in six blocks, helping the Mounties secure their first playoff berth in program history.
