PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona S Connor Baker had a great week setting the Lions' offense while also providing strong defense, helping his team go 3-0 in AMCC matches. In Wednesday night's win at St. Vincent, he totaled 44 assists to go along with 13 digs, two kills, and a block assist. In Saturday's victory in the AMCC Match of the Week at Thiel, the sophomore recorded 49 assists (the fourth-most assists in a single match in Penn State Altoona men's volleyball history) while adding nine digs, three block assists, a service ace, and a kill. Later that day, in a win over Medaille, he recorded 33 assists, 10 digs, two kills, and a block assist. On the week, Baker totaled 126 assists (9.69 assists per set), 32 digs (2.46 digs per set), five block assists (0.38 blocks per set), and five kills (0.38 kills per set).

 

BEST OF THE REST: Geneva OH Peter Barbato turned in a big week for Geneva last week, finishing three matches with 43 kills on a .363 hitting percentage, averaging 4.30 k/s and 4.8 pts/s. He also finished with 37 digs (3.70 d/s), including a career-high 18 digs against Hiram, while adding six blocks and two aces...Medaille OH/OPP Malachi Jackson had a total of 38 kills earning 4.75 kills per set, while also adding one assist, one ace, 17 digs, and three blocks, as his best game was against Thiel where he had 21 kills, earning 5.25 kills per set...Hiram RS Kilvio Montero helped lead Hiram men's volleyball to a 2-1 week which included a huge night against the Golden Tornadoes, posting 21 digs to go along with 20 kills, as he then tallied six service aces, five kills and two digs in Hiram's dominant 3-0 win over Mount Aloysius before once again reaching the double-figure mark with 11 kills while also having four digs against PS-Behrend...Thiel OH David Gonzalez recorded 21 digs and 18 kills for the Tomcats, who went 1-1 in a home tri-match on Saturday, as Gonzalez averaged 2.33 digs per set and 2.00 kills per set last week and owned an attack percentage of .115...PS-Behrend OH Owen Wienczkowski led the team with 24 kills, hitting .513 in three AMCC wins last week, as he tallied 10 kills on 13 attempts vs. Mt. Aloysius and then added eight kills against Hiram, he also added four blocks and four digs...Hilbert S Austin Chandler ran the Hawks' offense this past week, earning 58 total assists, adding 18 digs, six kills and three aces
