McSWIGGEN NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR AS MVB ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM IS ANNOUNCED

Saint Vincent College sophomore RS/OH Shawn McSwiggen has been tabbed as the AMCC Player of the Year. McSwiggen led the AMCC in total kills (347), kills per set (3.86), and points per set (4.6). He finished the regular season ranking 18th in NCAA Division III in kills per set. He also ranked third in the AMCC with 36 aces and was sixth in the AMCC in hitting percentage (.294). McSwiggen put down at least 11 kills in 19 matches and had four matches with 20+ kills. He twice recorded 30+ kills in a match, including a team-record 32 in a win at Penn State-Altoona. He recorded at least 10 digs in seven matches, with season-high 20 in win at Thiel (3/8).

Geneva College freshman OH Owen Kelley has been named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year. Kelley made a big impact in his first year with the Golden Tornadoes. He finished the regular season leading the team with 309 kills, including 93 kills (2.82 k/s) in conference play, on a .220 hitting percentage. He played all six rotations, adding 189 digs (1.63 d/s), 36 aces (0.31 sa/s) and 42 blocks (0.36 b/s). Kelley averaged 3.1 points per set in conference matches.

Coach of the Year honors goes Saint Vincent head coach Kate McCauley. McCauley led the Bearcats to an undefeated 9-0 record in the AMCC on their way to the program's first regular season title.
