PENN ST. ALTOONA'S MATT HUEY HEADS MEN'S VOLLEYBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

Penn State Altoona sophomore outside hitter Matt Huey has been selected as the AMCC men's volleyball Player of the Year. Huey had an outstanding season to help lead Penn State Altoona men's volleyball to its best record in team history. He led the AMCC in kills (396), kills per set (3.92), solo blocks (28), points (468.0), and points per set (4.6) while also ranking sixth in total digs (181), seventh in digs per set (1.79), total blocks (70), service aces (23), and aces per set (0.23), ninth in blocks per set (0.69), and 12th in hitting percentage (.227). Among all NCAA Division III men's volleyball players, he finished the season ranked fifth in both kills per set and points per set. Huey was also awarded numerous weekly honors, including one AVCA Division III National Player of the Week honor, to go along with being named the AMCC Player of the Week five times and ECAC Division III South Region Player of the Week three times.

Medaille College outside hitter Brad Schneider has been named the 2016 Newcomer of the Year. Schneider was one of Medaille's top all-around players in 2016, helping the Mavs go undefeated in AMCC and NEAC conference play. In addition to being the right side hitter, he was also one of the primary setters for a squad that led the conference in team hitting percentage (.256). Schneider finished the season ranked seventh in hitting percentage (.252), fourth in kills (279), 11th in kills per set (2.25), seventh in total blocks (70), and sixth in assists (612).

For the fourth time in five years, AMCC Coach of the Year honors go to Medaille's Keith Koch. Koch led the Mavericks to an 8-0 record in AMCC action, along with a 16-0 mark in the NEAC.
