MEN'S GOLF SET TO TEE OFF FOR AMCC CHAMPIONSHIP

The AMCC Men's Golf Championship is set to tee off on Monday, October 9 at Indiana Country Club in Indiana, PA to determine the 2023 AMCC men's golf champion. Penn State Altoona earned back-to-back conference championships in 2021 & 2022 and will be looking for their third staight, and eighth overall, conference title.

The Altoona Lions hold down the top four scoring averages in the conference this season, including six of the top ten. Sophomore Peter Nusbaum leads the AMCC with a 74.57 average on the year. Defending AMCC Golfer of the Year Trey Heffelfinger's 75.00 average is second in the conference, while sophomore Jack DiTrani rounds out the top three with a 75.57. Altoona freshman Andrew Bruce sits fourth in the league with a 77.14 average. 

Penn State Behrend senior Jake Caldwell ranks fifth with a 77.90 scoring average, while Pitt-Greensburg freshman Cyrus Parvizi comes in sixth with a 79.00. Mount Aloysius College has two golfers filling in spots seven and eight, as Aloysius Lee has a 79.75 average and Felix Feres is right on his heels with a 79.78.

Penn State Altoona rounds out the final two spots in the top ten, as Daniel Batrus is ninth with an 80.00 and Jack Ankeny sits at number 10 with an 80.40.

The Altoona Lions lead the conference with a 302 team scoring average on the season. Mount Aloysius is second with 320.67 and Penn State Behrend is third with 323.64.

The tournament is a two day, 36 hole, stroke play event. Monday's first pairings will tee off at 10:00am. 

Tuesday's action will commence at 9:00am, with pairings determined by the Day One results. The tournament team champion will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament which will be held May 14-17 in Boulder City, NV.
