PANTHERS MEN'S GOLF WRAPS UP NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP ACTION

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's golf team completed action in the NCAA Division III Championships Wednesday at Keene Trace Golf Club.

Pitt-Bradford shot a 325 Wednesday and 656 combined with Tuesday's First Round score to tie with Goucher for 36th place out of 42 teams competing.

Cooper Cordova was the team's top performer Wednesday, shooting a 79.

One stroke behind was Johnny Fiore, who shot an 80 highlighted by an eagle on the 17th hole.

At 81, Matt Moonan finished one stroke behind Fiore while Cary Ignaczak shot an 85.

Jamie Rook rounded out the Panther competitors with a score of 87.

Pitt-Bradford's placement of tied for 36th is an improvement from its spot tied for 39th after the First Round action.

Leading the way after the first two rounds is Illinois Wesleyan with a score of 578.

After Wednesday's Second Round action, the top 18 teams made the cut and will continue on. The NCAA Champion will be crowned Friday.

After missing the cut at the Championships, Pitt-Bradford's historic season comes to a close.

In October, Pitt-Bradford captured the program's third Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference title to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.

The conference title was the program's first since the Panthers won back-to-back AMCC championships in 2001 and 2002.
