BEHREND MEN'S GOLF EARNS FOURTH, LA ROCHE TAKES SIXTH AT CMU SPRING SHOOTOUT

The Penn State Behrend men's golf team placed fourth, while La Roche College placed sixth, out of nine teams at the Carnegie Mellon Spring Shootout held at The Links at Spring Church on Sunday afternoon. Behrend finished with a two-day total score of 612, while La Roche finished with a 633.

The Lions fired a 305 on day two and had two finish in the Top 10. Carnegie Mellon won the Shootout with a low score of 595 and Point Park was second with 603. Saint Vincent carded the best round of the tournament today with a 290 (606) to round out the top three.

Behrend juniors Sean Sculley and Ryan Matlock placed in the Top 10 for the invitational. Sculley tied his score from yesterday of 75 to finish with a 150 and earn seventh place overall. Matlock tied for eighth place, carding a team-low score of 74 on the day to end with a 151. Junior Alex Shindledecker tied for 21st after shooting a 79 on day two, combined with a 76 from day one for a 155. Senior Cody Stinson tallied a 77 today to finish with a 156 and tie for 24th overall.

Redhawk junior Ben Mullins and freshman Pat McCall guided La Roche with 154's over the two days. Mullins was steady at 77, 77 while Pat McCall went 79. 75. Freshman David Wilson was just four shots back at 80, 78 while senior Drake Hoberek had a second day 76 and sophomore Tom O'Toole a second day 80.

Behrend freshman JT Kuchnicki was the top finisher for the Lions' second team, who took ninth place with a two-day score of 652. Kuchnicki tied for 30th (81-78) with a 159 and sophomore Noah Kunst matched his score from the first round (81-81) to end with 162 (T36). Freshman Andy Goss recorded an 80 today for a 163 total to tie for 38th. Sophomore Zac McCue shaved eight strokes off his score from yesterday with an 80 to take 168 and earn 42nd overall.
