PLAYER OF THE WEEK: La Roche G Kennedy Smith had a career weekend at the Geneva Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament. In two games, Smith averaged 26.0 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per game while shooting 45% from the field. In La Roche's first game against Grove City, Smith corralled a career & conference season-high 16 rebounds and scored 20 points to pick up his first career double-double. In game two against Geneva, Smith scored a career-high 32 points on 7-for-9 from 3-PT while knocking down 12-24 FG (50%). All three are conference-highs this season. Smith is the first Redhawk since February 2016 to score 30+ points in a game. Kennedy's performances earned him a spot on the All-Tournament team.

 

BEST OF THE REST: Hilbert G Hunter Martineau led the Hawks to a 2-0 record this week, while posting his second career triple double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists in a win over Keuka College, as the senior guard averaged 15.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 11 assists over the two wins for the Hawks...Alfred State G Ryan Gentile scored over 20 points in both of the Pioneers games this week, including 20 points in an OT victory over Houghton and then adding 22 in the conference opener vs. Penn State Behrend, while also adding seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals on the week...Mt. Aloysius G Nate Christian earned a double-double in the Mounties' win against Dickinson on Saturday, posting 29 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 47 percent from the field, including a 4-5 clip from behind the arc...PS-Behrend G Kenny Fukon averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in a pair of games this week for the Lions, as he tallied nearly a third of the teams points in the first half against Alfred State (13) and finished with a career-high 20 points behind 57.1 shooting from the floor...Pitt-Greensburg G Matt Johnson scored a career-high 27 points to lead Pitt-Greensburg to an 81-60 victory over Bethany this past Saturday afternoon...Medaille F Jonathan Smith had a double-double in Medaille's win over Wells College, as he recorded 26 points and 15 rebounds in his two games this week, while averaging 19 minutes per game, while also shooting 70% from the free throw line...Pitt-Bradford guard Jeff Fry led the Panthers to their first win of the season over Fredonia. In 26 minutes he scored 19 points. He finished 4 of 7 from the field and 3 of 5 from three. He also hit 8 of 11 from the line. He added 4 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals in the game.
