Two-time defending AMCC champion, La Roche University, is once again expected to claim the AMCC men’s basketball title, according to league coaches. Penn State Behrend is expected to finish second, with Pitt-Greensburg rounding out the top three.
Penn State Behrend senior guard Tommy DiRienzo has been named the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. DiRienzo is the defending AMCC Player of the Year and an AMCC all conference first team selection. He was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 7 First Team and was an All-ECAC First Team Selection, along with being a D3hoops.com All-Region Third Team Selection. DiRienzo was also a member of the Academic All-AMCC team last year.
The AMCC Championship will be held Saturday, March 1 at the site of the number one seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
