The final AMCC Men's Basketball Game of the Week features second place Penn State Behrend (12-4) traveling to Alfred, NY on Wednesday afternoon to take on third place Alfred State College (11-5). 

Behrend comes into Wednesday’s contest with a 12-4 record in conference play. The Lions most recently defeated Penn State Altoona, 83-82, in overtime on Saturday. Five Behrend players scored in double-figures for the first time this season. Senior guard Matt Niland recorded a season-high 17 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists. Tommy DiRienzo and Michael Sopko each finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, while sophomores Mason Blankenberg and Matthew McDonough each delivered 14 points and five rebounds. DiRienzo leads the AMCC with 19.9 points per game and RJ Marsh pulls down a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game to rank seventh in the conference. Blankenberg sits third in the AMCC with a 54.0 percent field-goal percentage, while McDonough is tied for sixth in three-point percentage (40.6). As a team, Behrend is first in the conference in field-goal percentage (46.2), three-point percentage (34.7), and free-throw percentage (77.0).

Alfred State enters Wednesday’s contest with an 11-5 record in the AMCC. The Pioneers have won four straight games, including this past Saturday at Mount Aloysius (82-64). Dylan Perry scored a game-high 25 points, while Ryan Rosa (17 points) and Michael Miller (14 points) notched double-figures. Senior guard Paris Jamison ranks fourth in the AMCC in points per game (17.8). Fellow senior Cody Schneider dishes out a conference high 3.9 assists per game and sits second in the rankings with 8.8 rebounds per game to go along with 17.0 points per game. As a team, Alfred State is first in the conference in assists per game (17.6) and second in field-goal percentage (46.2).

Penn State Behrend defeated Alfred State 74-51 in a matchup earlier this season.
