AMCC ANNOUNCES MEN'S BASKETBALL 25TH ANNIVERSARY TEAM

Throughout the 2021-22 academic year, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. As part of the celebration, the AMCC office will be releasing a 25th anniversary all-AMCC team for each of its 16 conference-sponsored sports.

Penn State Behrend has had the most players named AMCC Player of the Year -- with 11 coming on the offensive side and three as the Defensive Player of the Year.

Pitt-Bradford's Matt Beacom was the first men's basketball player in the AMCC to earn back-to-back Player of the Year honors, garnering the award in 2001 and 2002. Other multi-year recipients include Behrend's James Curren (2003 & 2004), Kevin Buczynski (2006 & 2008), and Russ Conley (2012 & 2013). La Roche College's Mike Dixon earned back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2011 & 2012. Current Medaille College men's basketball coach Keith Hack was named the AMCC Player of the Year in 2010. Jonathan Belton, also from Medaille College, is the only player in AMCC men's basketball history to be named both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season (2017).

As a team, Penn State Behrend leads the way with six conference titles, their most recent one coming in 2019. Medaille is next with five, and La Roche, the defending conference champions from 2020, have won four.
