MEDAILLE TO FACE SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY IN NCAA FIRST ROUND; BEHREND AND ALTOONA ADVANCE TO ECAC TOURNAMENT

The Medaille College men's basketball team earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference bid on Sunday afternoon when they defeated the number three seeded Redhawks of La Roche College, 74-58, in front of their home crowd.

That conference championship earned them an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament and a first round date with Susquehanna University on Friday, March 3rd.

The River Hawks enter the NCAA Tournament as the No. 17 team in the nation with a 21-5 record overall and 11-3 record in the Landmark Conference. Three of Susquehanna's five defeats this season have come at the hands of NCAA Tournament teams, dropping their season opener to Misericordia and falling to Scranton twice. The River Hawks haven't hit the hardwood since Wednesday, as they fell to Moravian College 81-69 in the Landmark Senifinals.

The Mavericks and River Hawks tip off at 7:30pm, while Western Connecticut State and MIT kick things off at 5:00pm. Make sure to keep checking medaillesports.com for all the latest details.
