AMCC RELEASES MEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM, MEDAILLE'S BELTON SWEEPS PLAYER OF THE YEAR HONORS

Medaille College senior guard Johnathan Belton has been tabbed as the AMCC Men's Basketball Player and Defensive Player of the Year. Belton had one of the best seasons in program history. The lone senior of the AMCC men's basketball champion, Belton led the nation in steals with 82 overall, which was 19 more than the next highest in the AMCC. He also averaged 5.0 rebounds per game as a guard and had 19 blocks on the season. 

Hilbert College point guard Hunter Martineau is the Men's Basketball Newcomer of the Year. Martineau helped direct the Hawks to an overall league-leading 83.3 points per game during the regular season. The rookie led the AMCC in overall assists (159) where he ranked 16th nationally. He was also first in assists per game with 6.1, where he also ranked 17th in all of Division III. During the regular season, the 5'10 Martineau led all AMCC freshmen guards in overall rebounds (116) and rebounds per game (4.6 rpg), while ranking second among all freshmen in steals (28). He also finished second in the AMCC in assists to turnover ratio (2.6).

Maverick head coach Mike Blaine was named the AMCC Scott Lang Men's Basketball Coach of the Year. Blaine led the Mavs to a regular season and AMCC tournament championship after a sixth place finish just one year ago.
