HILBERT, PITT-GREENSBURG MEN TRIUMPHANT IN FIRST ROUND ACTION

After first round playoff action, #4 Hilbert College and #3 Pitt-Greensburg will advance to the AMCC Men's Basketball Tournament semi-final games to be played Friday evening at Penn St. Behrend.

For the fifth consecutive season, the Hilbert Hawks will be advancing to the AMCC semi-final game after beating #5 Pitt-Bradford 99-88 in the first round Tuesday evening. Senior guard Trevor Stark led the Hawks with 37 points on 12-14 shooting, while adding eight assists and four steals. Hilbert will take on host and top seed Penn St. Behrend Friday at 6:00 p.m.

Pitt-Greensburg triumphed over #6 D'Youville College, 88-72, in what was the Bobcats' first home playoff game in a decade.  Pitt-Greensburg junior Jerrell Figueroa dropped a career-high 35 points, which was the third highest game total in school history, and his seven 3-point baskets tied the school record for most in a game. Pitt-Greensburg advances to the AMCC semi-finals for the first time under fifth year Head Coach Sean Strickland. They will take on #2 Medaille College at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening on the campus of Penn St. Behrend.

The winners of Friday night's semi-final games will square off on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. for the AMCC Championship. The championship game will take place in the Junker Center on the Penn St. Behrend campus.
