PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Pitt-Bradford JR Shawn Mannering had a big week for Pitt-Bradford, picking up two complete game victories over Penn State Behrend and Pitt-Greensburg. Mannering allowed just three earned runs over 14 innings pitched to post a 1.93 ERA while striking out 10 batters. In the win over the Lions, Mannering scattered six hits, allowed one earned run, and struck out five.

 

BEST OF THE REST: Mount Aloysius SO Matthew Watkins earned the win in both Mountie victories last week, as he tossed 9.1 scoreless innings across the week, allowing just five hits -- he came on to pitch six scoreless innings with five strikeouts and allowed just three hits in the Mounties' 7-4 win against La Roche, he then followed that up with 3.1 scoreless frames on Saturday in the win against Hilbert, allowing just two hits...PS-Altoona SO Sean Wing made two strong appearances on the mound last week, helping the Lions achieve AMCC wins in both, as he entered in relief and got the victory after going three innings and holding the Bobcats to one run in game two of Tuesday's doubleheader at Pitt-Greensburg, then in game one of Saturday's home doubleheader with Penn State Behrend, he again came out of the bullpen to hold the Lions' lead, tossing 2 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his first collegiate save...PS-Behrend FR Jake Manendo threw 8.1 innings in two appearances, only allowing one run on six hits with 15 strikeouts to earn two wins, as he pitched four scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and striking out five to notch his third win of the year in his first collegiate start vs. Pitt-Bradford, he then picked up his fourth win of the year in game two at Altoona, tossing 4.1 innings in relief, surrendering only one run on three hits and striking out a career-high 10 batters...Hilbert SO Dave Alessi continued his dominance in relief work this past week, logging four shutout appearances allowing only one hit all week, as the right-hander has now thrown eight shutout appearances in his last nine times out and has not allowed an earned run since March 8...La Roche JR Larry Bielawski continued his string of quality pitching with a fantastic all-around week, as he allowed six runs, only four of which were earned, nine hits, three walks and 16 strikeouts over 12.1 innings, he tossed a complete game seven innings in game one, allowing one unearned run, four hits and striking out nine in a win over Wells...Wells JR Cameron Hayman had a strong week for the Express, closing out their two all-important conference wins against Alfred State and La Roche, as he was nearly untouchable in his 2.1 innings of work, allowing only two hits and preventing any opposing runners from reaching the plate in his two outings, he also produced two strikeouts and closed out both wins for an Express team that is fighting for the final playoff spot in the AMCC.
