PITT-BRADFORD'S BOYER RECOGNIZED BY D3BASEBALL.COM AND THE NCBWA

Pitt-Bradford senior pitcher Ryan Boyer has been recognized by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America and D3baseball.com for his early season performances for the Panthers. Boyer was named Pitcher of the Week by the NCWBA and placed on the Team of the Week by D3baseball.com.

Boyer threw his second straight two-hit shutout for Pitt-Bradford in a 9-0 victory over Wells. Boyer struck out 13 batters without allowing a walk. He pitched the final five innings of the game without allowing a hit. This was the second straight two-hit shutout for Boyer who has struck out 33 batters in 18 innings pitched. He was named Pitcher of the Week by the AMCC earlier this week. For the season, Boyer is 2-1 with a 2.50 era. He has posted 16.5 strikeouts per 9 innings and a strikeout to walk ratio of 33 to 4. 

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its eighth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the third Team of the Week of the 2020 season. 

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters, and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Player of the Year Award, Regional Player of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors preseason All-America awards, publication and writing contests.
