MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Albertus Magnus baseball team lost a 9-5 game to La Roche on Wednesday evening at The Ripken Experience.
Elijah Spataj (Cheshire, Conn.) went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a home run. Adriel Espada (Bridgeport, Conn.) went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs.
Riley Corgan (New Milford, Conn.) pitched 6.1 innings in his first start of the season, giving up just one earned run on three hits while striking out two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons got on the board with two runs in each of the first two innings as Spataj hit his first home run of the season that scored Espada in the top of the first.
- Danny Suarez hit a solo home run for the Redhawks in the bottom of the inning, but the Falcons responded with a two-run double from Espada that scored Anthony Abate (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Colin Tedford (Branford, Conn.).
- Albertus added another run in the top of the seventh on an RBI single from Eric Galarza (Bridgeport, Conn.).
- The Redhawks rallied in the bottom of the eighth, scoring eight runs. They took the lead on a suicide squeeze by Josh Dreyer and took a 9-5 lead on the second homer of the day from Suarez, a three-run shot.
