    The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team won 2024 AMCC Championship match with a 5-4 win over Penn State Altoona on Sunday at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA.

  • Nick Beard, Penn State Altoona, Men's Tennis

    Beard had a great week for the Lions, helping his team go 3-1 overall. He compiled a perfect 4-0 record in No. 3 singles matches, defeating his opponents from AMCC foes Mount Aloysius and Penn State Behrend and non-conference opponent Geneva. He also went 3-1 in No. 2 doubles matches.
  • Caey Hess, Penn State Altoona, Men's Tennis

    Hess had a perfect record in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Lions last week, helping his team to wins over non-conference opponents Westminster and Waynesburg and against AMCC foe Pitt-Greensburg during Penn State Altoona's homestand. Versus Westminster, he won 6-0, 6-0 in singles and was part of an 8-1 win in doubles. Against Waynesburg, he prevailed 6-3, 6-3 in singles and 8-3 in doubles. Against Pitt-Greensburg, he triumphed 6-0, 6-1 in singles and 8-0 in doubles. On the week, Casey went 3-0 overall in both No. 1 singles and doubles.

    Grot had a strong week for the Lions, helping his team to a pair of dominant victories. In Tuesday's 9-0 road win over AMCC opponent Mount Aloysius, he was part of an 8-0 victory in No. 3 doubles. In Thursday's 8-1 home victory against non-conference foe Penn College, he posted a 6-2, 6-3 triumph in No. 6 singles while having a hand in an 8-1 win in No. 3 doubles.

    Piazza only surrendered one set point over two matches to help the Lions pick up their first conference win of the season. He posted an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles and went on to collect a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 4 singles.

    Chronister was part of a dominant 9-0 win by Penn State Altoona over AMCC opponent Pitt-Greensburg on Sunday afternoon. In No. 1 doubles, he teamed up with Casey Hess to post an 8-1 decision over their opponents. In the No. 2 singles match, he blanked his opponent 6-0, 6-0.

    Sangha did not give up a set point at No. 2 singles while also earning an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles as the Lions defeated Thiel 8-1 in non-conference action on Friday.

    Laier led his team to a victory over Washington & Jefferson this past week. Laier picked up wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles against the Presidents on Friday. In doubles, Laier and Akash Sangha only gave up one set point. Laier went on to post a 6-2, 7-5 victory in the top spot.
