WXC TEAMS COMPETE AT REGIONALS, NOLA NAMED ALL-REGION

The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team placed 12th out of 20 teams with a team score of 344 at NCAA Regional Championships hosted by Houghton University Saturday afternoon. 145 runners from 20 teams took part in the 6k race.

Behrend's Olivia Nola was the top finisher for the Lions, crossing the finish line in 31st place with a time of 22:45.1, marking a season-best time by Nola to earn All-Region honors. Savanna Carr was the next Lion to place, registering a time of 23:19.0 for 60th place. Rounding out the top 100 for Behrend was Lindsey Hartle and Bethany Litwiler, as Hartle delivered a 72nd place finish (23:57.5), followed by Litwiler at 87th place (24:26.9), respectively. Ivy Laffan ran a time of 25.24.4 for a 102nd place finish.

Nola now awaits to find out if she earns a bid into the NCAA Division III Championships.

Hilbert College graduate students Maddie Fusco represented the Hilbert women's cross Country program as an individual participant and set the new Hilbert 6K time, finishing in 66th place with a time of 23:31.2.

Alfred State College had two runners finish in the top 100 at the regional race. Freshman Oli Kraynik was the first Pioneer to finish with a time of 24:24.8 for 86th place. Senior Isabelle Popoff was next across with a time of 24:57.1 for 94th place. Freshman Olivia Plummer finished of the Pioneers roster with a time of 26:53.3 for 118th place.
