BEHREND'S CARR ADVANCES TO NATIONALS

Penn State Behrend  junior Savanna Carr became the second-ever Penn State Behrend women's cross country runner to advance to the NCAA Championship. Carr finished eighth at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Mid-East Regional on Saturday afternoon. Her eighth place finish is the best finish at the NCAA Regional in Behrend women's cross country history.

Carr finished in eighth place at the NCAA Mid-East Regional to qualify for the NCAA Championship next weekend in Louisville, Kentucky. She had a career-best time of 21:52.7 to earn her All-Region honors. The junior most recently won the AMCC Championship before competing at the Mid-East Regional. As a team, the Lions finished 23rd out of 49 teams with a score of 631. Riley Crissman finished 57th overall with a time of 23:08.7.

Franciscan University claimed 27th place out of 49 teams. Alison Bryant led the way for the Lady Barons placing 59th place out of 349 runners.

John Hopkins led all teams with a score of 88 points, narrowly edging out Dickinson who had 98 points. Isabel Cardi from Dickinson claimed the individual title with a time of 20:38.5 in the 6k race.
