Franciscan University freshman Alison Bryant has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Rookie of the Month for the month of October after helping the Franciscan women's cross country team to an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship.
Bryant brought home Newcomer of the Year honors from the AMCC as she took second overall and was the first rookie to cross the finish line at the AMCC championship meet. Bryant finished with a time of 23:47.81. Earlier in the month, Bryant finished 23rd overall at the Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin, with a personal-best time of 23:07.2. The Lady Barons finished ninth overall at the meet, their highest team finish in program history.
The Lady Barons get back on the course on Saturday as they compete in the NCAA Mideast Regional championship meet in Center Valley, PA, hosted by DeSales.
