Penn State Behrend freshman Savanna Carr and Franciscan University freshman Liam Galligan were both named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) North Division III Rookies of the Week, announced Wednesday.

Carr set the charge for the Lions with a first-place finish at the AMCC (Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference) Championship on Saturday, helping Behrend win the meet with a perfect score of 15. Her final time of 23:23 was good enough to earn her the second-fastest time in AMCC Championship history. This marks Carr's second career ECAC honors.

For the second time this season, Galligan earned back-to-back weekly honors as he was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon. Galligan was honored by the AMCC as the Runner of the Week after winning the individual title at the 2017 AMCC Championship meet, Saturday afternoon. Galligan is the first individual champion for the Barons since 2012. The Springfield, PA native won the race with a time of 26:23, placing first out of 58 runners.
