FRANCISCAN, BEHREND TOP RUNNERS FOR WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP

Franciscan University will look to claim back-to-back women's cross country championships, but they will have to get past the Penn St. Behrend Lions and junior Rachel Ramsey, who is a four-time AMCC Runner of the Week this season.

The Lions, winners of five previous conference titles, were the top AMCC team in the Behrend Invitational, which served as the AMCC championship meet preview. Ramsey was the first AMCC runner to cross the finish line with a 5K time of 20:26.

Franciscan claimed the top spot in the Franciscan Invitational, which featured five AMCC teams. The Barons were led by freshman Emily Theurer, a former AMCC Runner and ECAC Rookie of the Week, who finished the race in 20:47. Franciscan has four conference titles to their name.

Looking to claim her second individual championship is Hilbert junior Kylie Reinholz, the 2014 AMCC Runner of the Year. Reinholz is a two-time AMCC Runner of the Week, and continues to set personal-best times in almost every race she runs.

The AMCC championship meet will take place on Saturday, October 31 at Penn St. Behrend.  The women's race will begin at 11am.  All teams will have the opportunity to participate in the NCAA Division III Regional Meet on Saturday, November 14 hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School in Newville, PA.
