Reinholz Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced their 2016 USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors team, and for the second year in a row, Hilbert College's Kylie Reinholz earned a spot on the Division III roster.

Each student-athlete must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25-percent at their respective regional race in order to make the All-Academic team.   In total, there were 352 women from 207 teams and 268 men from 151 teams who nabbed USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

Reinholz was the only Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference runner, female or male, to earn this distinction in 2016.

Reinholz will graduate in May 2016 with her bachelor's degree in forensic science/crime scene investigation and then officially enter the criminal justice master degree program.  After earning a perfect 4.0 gpa in the fall 2015 semester, Reinholz currently carries a 3.97 cumulative grade point average.

Reinholz' race-days were limited during the 2015 fall season as she balanced her academic requirements with her competition dates.  The third-year runner is in the college's '4 plus 1 program' which requires undergraduate students to attend graduate-level courses each Saturday, also known as race-day.  Prior to the AMCC championship date, Reinholz ran in only four of the eight meets on the Hawks' schedule.

The Orchard Park native finished in 4th place at the 6K AMCC Championship hosted by Penn State Behrend October 31.  She clocked in a 24:42.5 to lead the Hawks team to a program-best 4th place finish.  Two weeks later, Reinholz competed in her second NCAA Mideast Regional race and crossed the line in 23:59.1, setting her personal best 6K time.
