PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona SO Jess Stevens picked up where she left off in her return to the Penn State Altoona women's tennis program for her second season, going 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles in the Lady Lions' first matches of the season this past weekend. In an 8-1 loss to AMCC opponent Medaille on Saturday, she posted a 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 1 singles. In Sunday's 4-3 victory over AMCC foe Mount Aloysius, she had a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 1 singles and an 8-2 victory in No. 1 doubles.

BEST OF THE REST: Medaille JR Kristina Hryshchuk started the season off with a hard-fought battle with Greensburg out of the #3 spot but resulted in a loss. However, she put on a dominant performance against Penn State Altoona, earning wins in both singles and doubles action. The junior Maverick earned a win in #3 singles and in #2 doubles.
