PENN ST. BEHREND TRIUMPHANT AT SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIP

The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team continued their reigns atop the victory platform at the conclusion of the 2017 AMCC championship Saturday night.

The Behrend women captured their tenth team title and third in a row, finishing with 570.5 points. Cabrini College, the 2014 champions, finished second with 494.5 points, followed by Alfred State College (376), Franciscan University (282), Penn State Altoona (270) and Pitt-Bradford (164).

The Lions wrapped up the competition on Day 4 with 3 first place finishes:  1650 freestyle (Anna Watterson), 100 freestyle (Maryn Horn, pool record), and the 400 freestyle relay (Gwen Lowery, Jessica Wyckoff, Abigail Witmer, Horn, AMCC open and meet record).  Also taking gold were Franciscan's Elizabeth McNulty (200 butterfly), Alfred State's Alison Sell (200 breaststroke) and Rebecca Stevens (3 m. diving), Penn St. Altoona's Emily Booz (200 backstroke).

Horn was honored as the High Point Female Swimmer of the Meet, while twin sisters Rebecca and Sarah Stevens shared the High Point Diver of the Meet award.
