RECORDS FALL ON DAY ONE OF SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIP

Penn St. Behrend got a jump on defending both of its 2016 titles by winning the men's and women's 800 freestyle relays Wednesday night at the AMCC Swimming and Diving Championship.

Shattering both the pool and meet records, the Lions' Gwen Lowery, Jessica Wyckoff, Abigail Witmer and Anna Waterson posted an 8:08.28 to out-touch the Cabrini College relay team by eight seconds in the first timed final.

On the men's side, Behrend's top relay--Mark Patterson, Nick Kost, Ryan Siggins and Nick Roth--also demolished the pool and meet records with a time of 6:58.04 to beat Pitt-Bradford, their closest competitor, by nearly 20 seconds.
