The AMCC Women's Soccer Game of the Week features the La Roche University Redhawks taking on the Alfred State College Pioneers in Alfred, NY. 

The La Roche women’s soccer team enters Saturday’s matchup against Alfred State in the midst of one of the best stretches in program history. Currently holding a 4-1-1 mark in AMCC play, as well as a five match shutout streak, having not allowed a goal in the last 452:07, the Redhawks look to continue their push for the postseason. Senior Alexis Nudds and freshman standout Finnleigh Gould both lead the team with five goals, while senior Alexandra Mecchia has a team-best six assists. Goalkeeper Julianna Hornikel has been tremendous in goal, having posted eight shutouts in 2023, including five in conference play. 

The Pioneers are looking are looking to take down La Roche in this weekend's homecoming matchup. Alfred State will be getting a little extra motivation from senior day. So far this season the Pioneers scored 25 goals, led by senior Jena Schelble and Erin Drewiega. Schelble leads the way with five goals while Drewiega netted four goals. Freshman Karlee Hargather has been the main play maker tallying five assists, and freshman Madigan Harris is right behind her adding three assists this season. Last season Alfred was able to takedown La Roche and they will be looking to repeat that success this season.
