#1 PITT-GREENSBURG, #2 PENN STATE BEHREND TO CLASH IN WOMEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP

The No. 1 Pitt-Greenburg and No. 2 Penn State Behrend women's soccer teams each picked up victories in the AMCC semifinals to advance to the women's soccer championship match. The Bobcats earned the 2-0 victory over No. 4 Penn State Altoona, while Behrend won 3-0 over No. 6 Mount Aloysius College

For the third straight season, the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team is going to the AMCC Championship game to take on the Penn State Behrend Lions. A goal late in the second half by sophomore D/M Julia Rowe gave the Bobcats a 1-0 lead, and an insurance goal by freshman Megan Hickey, her 18th of the season, propelled the Bobcats to a 2-0 win over Altoona. Bobcat freshman keeper Hailey Kepner made two saves on two shots for the Bobcats and was tactical in net with her angles. 

Penn State Behrend 3, Mount Aloysius 0
The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team advances to the 2022 AMCC Championship match after posting a 3-0 win over Mt. Aloysius in the semifinals on Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore F Trinity Prestash scored two first-half goals to give the Lions a 2-0 lead at halftime. Prestash scored her first goal of the game when she intercepted the ball in a scuffle in front of the goal line and tapped it past the Mountie keeper for a 1-0 lead. Prestash made it 2-0 just 12 minutes later, scoring on a header off a direct kick taken by Christine Patterson. Senior M Emily Clopp netted the third goal in the 71st minute when she took a cross from the right side that bounced in for the unassisted tally for the final margin. Behrend GK Morgan Harding got her fourth shutout of the season in goal

The Bobcats and Lions return to action on Saturday in the AMCC Championship game at No. 1 Pitt-Greensburg's Ridilla Field. Game time is 2 p.m.
