BEHREND PICKED AS AMCC WOMEN'S SOCCER FAVORITE

Penn State Behrend, winners of 14 AMCC women's soccer crowns, has once again been selected by league coaches to defend their conference title. Mount Aloysius College is expected to finish second, with D'Youville College in third.

Penn St. Behrend sophomore forward Brenna McGuire has been named the AMCC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. McGuire was the 2018 AMCC Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. She started in all 20 games for the Lions in 2018, finishing the season with 18 goals overall, scoring 13 in AMCC play. The rookie tallied five assists along with five game-winning goals including the game-winner in the AMCC Championship game. McGuire was a member of the All-ECAC first team, while being named ECAC Rookie of the Year

Mount Aloysius senior defender Summer Schell is the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Schell is a three-time AMCC all-conference performer, including two first team selections. She has also been named to the Great Lakes All-Region team twice, including last fall. She has 11 career goals and four career assists from her center back position.

The AMCC championship will be held November 9 at the site of the highest remaining seed, with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
