DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Wells D Lexi Carfi had an excellent week for an Express defensive squad that recorded a shutout in their only action last week vs Waynesburg. She flew around on defense, causing two turnovers and securing three ground balls for Wells in a complete performance that saw them win 22-0 and cruise to a 6-0 start to the season, the best start in Wells women's lacrosse history. Carfi was at the core of the huge defensive effort, leading a staunch Express unit that caused 31 turnovers, and only allowed eight shots in the shutout vs the Yellow Jackets.

BEST OF THE REST: La Roche GK/D Juliana Hornikel was strong in net for the Redhawks in their lone matchup of the week against a very solid Grove City squad. Hornikel made 12 saves in the contest, while adding four ground balls and forcing three turnovers, both of which led the team on the day.
