WOMEN'S LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND

The AMCC Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament kicks off this Saturday with first round matchups. Wells College has earned the #1 seed and will host #4 Hilbert College, while #2 Mount Aloysius College hosts #3 La Roche University

#1 Wells went a perfect 6-0 in conference play during the regular season. The Express boast the top four goal scorers in the AMCC, as Logan Lomonaco sits at the top with 26 goals in conference play. Lydia Thomas is second with 21, while Hannah Lamont has 19 and Jade Epp 18. Lamont leads the league with 14 assists against conference opponents, while Thomas is tied for second with 12 and Lomonaco's 11 helpers are third. Defensively, goal keeper Lauren Speigel leads the league with a 5.41 goals-against average in conference play, as she has recorded 18 saves and a 45.0 save percentage. 

With a 4-2 record in conference play, Mount Aloysius enters the tournament as the #2 seed. Katie Figinski leads the Mounties, and ranks sixh in the conference, with 15 goals. Hanna Geissler is second on the team with nine while also adding three assists. Mountie goal keeper Zoe Swank carries an 8.71 goals-against average and a 45.6 save percentage. 

La Roche enters the tournament as the #3 seed with a 2-4 record against AMCC opponents. Jade Fuccaro leads the Redhawks and is tied for fourth in the conference with 18 goals, while Jasey Reiser has scored 13 goals while adding four assists. In goal, Julianna Hornikel has recorded a conference-leading 60 saves with a 49.6 save percentage. 

Rounding out the field is #4 Hilbert. The Hawks are led by Olivia Horn's two goals and one assist on the season. Hilbert goal keeper Katie Kociszewski has made 54 saves in conference play and carries a 40.6 save percentage. 

The winners of Saturday's semifinal games will meet on Saturday, May 4 for the AMCC Championship.
