HILBERT'S GAWLAK NAMED TO D3HOOPS.COM 2ND TEAM ALL-REGION

Hilbert College senior Emily Gawlak was named to the D3hoops.com 2nd Team All-Great Lakes Region Tuesday.

This honor caps off a fantastic four-year career for Gawlak, who was named the 2020 AMCC Player of the Year while earning 1st Team All-Conference honor recognition.

The 5-6 guard led the AMCC in scoring (514), scoring average (19.0), field goals attempted and made (191-444).  She helped the Hawks battle back to the AMCC title game for the third consecutive year.

Gawlak scored her 1,000th career point November 26 and by the final horn in February, she tallied 409 more points.  She averaged 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals in 37.5 minutes per game.  Gawlak recorded 40 points on February 19 and on three other occasions knocked in 30+ points.

Gawlak was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week February 25 and was named the AMCC Player of the Week three times by the close of her senior campaign.

She graduates as the women's basketball program's all-time leader in: scoring (1409), FGM/FGA (520/1325), games started (101), games played (106) as well as the overall minutes leader (3736).

Gawlak joins Autumn Lee-Jeffries, '05, Hall of Fame '12 as the only two Hilbert players named to a D3hoops.com All-Region team.
