The La Roche College Redhawks travel to Hamburg, NY on Saturday to take on the Hilbert College Hawks in the AMCC women's basketball game of the week. La Roche and Hilbert are two of the top women's basketball programs in the AMCC in recent years, as Hilbert is the defending champion and La Roche won the seven titles prior to that. The Redhawks, with an 8-1 conference record, and the Hawks, at 7-2, are currently the top two teams in league standings.

The La Roche College Redhawks enter the second half of conference play in first place and winners of four straight. They have not lost since before the new year. La Roche ranks near the top of the AMCC on both ends of the floor. On the offensive side, the Redhawks rank second in the conference in scoring while leading in both field goal percentage, 3-PT percentage, and assists. Jenna Cole is the Redhawks' top scorer and the league's second-ranked scorer at 18.2 points per game. Danajah Sanders averages 11.8 points per game and is a sharpshooter from long range. Shaundrea Butler averages 9.3 points per game, and leads the AMCC in field goal percentage and assists. Nia Thomas averages just shy of double-figures at 9.9 points per game. La Roche is just as good on the defensive end. The Redhawks lead the AMCC in points allowed per game, opponent field goal percentage, steals, and rank second in opponent 3-PT percentage.

The Hilbert College women's basketball team has battled back from injuries and is excited for their rematch with La Roche now that they are at full strength. The Hawks are led by a tri of juniors with Taylor Corts averaging 16.1 points per game, Ashley Repine (13.3 ppg/7.3 rpg) leading the league with a .535 field goal percentage and Emily Gawlak's 37.8 minutes per game of pure hustle convert into 11.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Senior Katelyn Proy leads the league with 4.0 blocks per game while scoring 10.6 points and grabbing 8.9 rebounds.  Demi Battin quarterbacks the offense lead the team in assists (3.4 apg) and steals (2.0).

La Roche won the first meeting between the two schools on December 15, a 76-54 victory.
