MEDAILLE'S REINWALD SWEEPS PLAYER OF THE YEAR HONORS AS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM IS RELEASED

Medaille College senior forward Dani Reinwald has been named the 2018 AMCC Women's Basketball Player and Defensive Player of the Year. Reinwald scored 476 points this season, averaging 19 a game for a new career high. She also grabbed a staggering 16.3 rebounds a game, for a total of 408. She finished the regular season first in the AMCC in offensive rebounds (156), defensive rebounds (252), total rebounds, rebounds per game, and total blocks (63). She was second in steals (99) and third in points, points per game, and total field goals made (157). She recorded 23 double-doubles as a senior, including her first career triple double on January 17 when she collected 16 points, 23 rebounds, and 11 steals against D'Youville. She was named the AMCC Player of the Week four different times, and became the first Medaille athlete in any sport to be named a National Player of the Week when she was selected as the USBWA DIII Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week on November 28. At the end of the regular season, Reinwald ranked in the top 10 Nationally in defensive rebounds per game (6th), double-doubles (4th), free throw attempts (7th), free throws made (5th), offensive rebounds per game (2nd), total rebounds (4th), rebounds per game (4th), total steals (8th), and steals per game (8th). She became just the second player in program history to join the 1,000 point, 1,000 rebound club and she did it in just two and a half seasons in the blue and gold. If you combine her entire career, Reinwald recorded 1415 points and 1329 career rebounds, which is currently tied for 19th all-time in NCAA History. Her 13.7 career rebounds per game average currently sit 14th in the all-time NCAA record books, and her 67 career double-doubles is 13th on the all-time NCAA record list.

Medaille freshman forward Morgan Kennedy picks up Newcomer of the Year honors. Kennedy finished the regular seasn averaging 16.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 48.6 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point land. She earned eight double-doubles as a freshman, three of which she scored at least 24 points and grabbed at least 17 rebounds. Kennedy ranked in the top ten in the AMCC in free throws made (75), defensive rebounds (125), and total points (391); while ranking top five in field goals made (151), field goal percentage (48.6), offensive rebounds (108), total rebounds (233), rebounds per game (9.7), and was first in points per 40 minutes at 23.5. Her totals also put her in the top 100 in the nation in rebounds per game, total rebounds, field goals made, and field goal percentage; while her five offensive rebound per game rank 34th in the NCAA. 

Hilbert College head coach Amy Senefelder has been tabbed as the AMCC Coach of the Year. The 2017-18 season was Senefelder's first at the helm as she led the Hawks to their best season in program history. They completed a 21-6 overall record, going 16-2 in league play, for their first regular season and AMCC tournament championship titles.
