WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASED; McLIN TAKES HOME TOP HONORS

La Roche junior guard Sabrina McLin is the 2016 AMCC Women's Basketball Player of the Year. McLin, the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year and preseason all-American ranked seventh in the nation in scoring and finished tied for second in the AMCC with 21.4 points per game. She was second in the conference with 52 three-pointers, ranked third in steals with 77 and was fifth in assists with 96. She was also twice named the AMCC Player of the Week.

For the third straight year, La Roche junior forward Danasha Harris has been selected as the AMCC Defensive Player of the Year. She leads the AMCC in steals and ranks eleventh nationally in the same category. She also ranks second in the AMCC in assists and fourth in offensive rebounding.

Penn State Behrend freshman forward Ali Goetz has been tabbed as the Newcomer of the Year. The rookie has started in 23 out of 25 games. She ranks first on the team in free-throw percentage (75.9) and is third in scoring (9.3 ppg). Goetz has scored double figures in 10 games, including a season-high 23 points at Franciscan, going 7-for-8 from the field and grabbing a season-best nine rebounds. Goetz also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game throughout her freshman campaign.

Penn State Behrend head coach Christine Slater has been named the AMCC Coach of the Year. Slater led the Lions to an impressive turnaround season in just her second year at the helm. After a 6-12 conference record that tied them for eighth place in 2014-15, the Lions finished the 2015-16 season with a 13-5 record and a second place regular season finish.
