LA ROCHE, PITT-BRADFORD WOMEN TO CLASH IN AMCC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

#1 La Roche College defeated #4 D'Youville College to advance to their sixth straight AMCC championship game, while #3 Pitt-Bradford secured the upset over #2 Penn St. Behrend in the second game of the afternoon. 

#1 La Roche 96, #4 D'Youville 47
The D'Youville Spartans scored the first basket of the contest, but their lead didn't last long as the La Roche Redhawks took a commanding 30-point lead (53-23) into the locker room at halftime. La Roche went on to cruise to a 96-47 victory to advance to Sunday's championship game. The Redhawks saw five players score in double figures, led by junior forward TiChina Mitchell who poured in a game-high 26 points. Junior forward Mackenzie O'Donnell picked up a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore guard Darrian Johnson scored 13 points, while junior guard Sabrina McLin and junior guard Gloria Schifino rounded out the double digit scorers with 12 and 10 points, respectively. 

#3 Pitt-Bradford 60, #2 Penn St. Behrend 52
Pitt-Bradford defeated Penn St. Behrend 60-52 to survive and advance to the AMCC championship game tomorrow afternoon. The Panthers led 32-23 at the half and never relinquished their lead, as the Lions began to chip away down the stretch, outscoring Bradford 16-9 in the final quarter. Pitt-Bradford was led by sophomore guard Ali Rinfrette who finished the game with 24 points and eight rebounds, while junior guard Abby Brate chipped in with 10 points.

The AMCC women's basketball championship game will take place tomorrow, Sunday, February 28, at 1:00 p.m. at La Roche College.
