LA ROCHE TO FACE EASTERN MENNONITE IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

AMCC women's basketball champion La Roche College (22-5, 17-1 AMCC) will face Eastern Mennonite University (22-4, 15-1 ODAC) on Friday, March 6 at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, KY.

The Redhawks claimed their fifth consecutive AMCC Championship, and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, with a win over Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday afternoon. They are led offensively by sophomore guard Sabrina McLin who averages 18.1 ppg and senior guard/forward LaShauna Brothers who averages 15.3 ppg.

Eastern Mennonite, located in Harrisonburg, VA,  had been the No. 2 team in the South Region in both regional rankings released during the season before losing to eventual ODAC champion Virginia Wesleyan in the semifinals.  EMU went 15-1 in ODAC play during the regular season, earning their third consecutive top seed for the conference tourney. This is the third straight NCAA Tournament appearance for the Royals.

"It is such an honor to get to represent our school and conference in the NCAA tournament," stated La Roche head coach Kamela Gissendanner. "We are going to live in the moment and play to the best of our ability and make it known that we are not just happy to be here, we want to compete and advance."

Game time will be released later this week.
