LA ROCHE CLAIMS FIFTH CONSECUTIVE AMCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

La Roche College claimed their sixth AMCC women's basketball championship with a 73-55 win over Pitt-Greensburg Saturday afternoon. Both teams battled hard throughout the first half, with La Roche taking a slim 31-28 lead into the locker rooms.

The Redhawks slowly pulled away throughout the second half and outscored the Bobcats 42-27 after halftime. They were led offensively by sophomore McKenzie O'Donnell who finished with 24 points. Senior LaShauna Brothers recorded a double-double with 19 and 10 rebounds, while sophomore Sabrina McLin added 15 points.

Pitt-Greensburg seniors Morgan Biddle and Kayla Dames led the way for the Bobcats, with 18 and 11 points, respectively. 

La Roche will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, with pairings to be announced on Monday.
