Alexa Haberer, D'Youville College, Softball - Pitcher

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: D'Youville JR Alexa Haberer has been a big part of the team's 4-0 start to the season in the circle and at the plate. Haberer began the season opener against UMass.-Dartmouth on Saturday, as she pitched a 7.0 inning complete game, allowing just four hits and no runs while striking out seven in the 5-0 win. In the next game on Saturday against Geneva, Haberer's impact came at the plate where she went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the 3-2 win over the Golden Tornadoes. On Sunday, Haberer again took the circle pitched a 7.0 inning complete game in the 10-3 win over St. Scholastica. For the week, she went 2-0 with two complete games, giving up just two earned runs in 14 innings while striking out 15 batters and recording a 1.00 ERA. Haberer is currently tied for first in the AMCC in wins (2) and complete games (2), second in strikeouts (15), and fifth in ERA (1.00), and tied for fourth in inings pitched (14.0).

 

BEST OF THE REST: Franciscan SO Sarah Keating opened the 2020 season by picking up a pair of complete-game victories over Southern Virginia University and Mary Baldwin University, as she she posted an ERA of 3.50 allowing seven earned runs in 14 innings of action, becoming the program's all-time leader in wins with Franciscan's 3-2 victory over Southern Virginia...Pitt-Greensburg FR Rena Caruso had a great debut on the mound for the Bobcats in their 9-0 victory over SUNY Potsdam in the season-opener, as she tossed a complete-game three-hit shutout and struck out six in her first career start...PS-Altoona SO Jayde Burge pitched well in two games on Sunday to start the Lady Lions' week in The Spring Games in Florida, tossing 6 1/3 innings in a tough walkoff loss to DeSales, allowing only two earned runs, while also starting her team's loss to Washington, pitching three innings and allowing only one earned run while taking a no decision.
