Penn State Altoona travels to Penn State Behrend on Saturday for a clash between the top two teams in conference standings. First place Penn State Behrend enters the game with an 8-0 record in conference play, while Penn State Altoona sits at 6-2 and is in second place.

Penn State Altoona travels to Erie to face Penn State Behrend in a rematch of last year’s AMCC Championship. The Lions enter the weekend with a 6-2 conference record that has included sweeps of Alfred State, La Roche, and Pitt-Greensburg. Several Lion hitters have been swinging hot bats, as Penn State Altoona has three of the top nine individual batting averages in the conference. Senior utility player and conference Preseason Player of the Year Cameryn Feathers is the AMCC’s top hitter, ranking first in batting average (.532) and hits (41) while also being first in slugging percentage (.727) and stolen bases (12). Junior infielder Alyssa Fisher has the sixth-best batting average in the league (.439) while also being second in runs scored (26), third in doubles (9), and fourth in hits (36) and triples (3). Junior third baseman Hanna Lauck is ninth in the AMCC in batting average (.417) as well as eighth in RBI (18) and ninth in hits (30). Freshman right-handed pitcher Josselyn Nau has performed as one of the top pitchers in the AMCC, as she leads the conference in appearances (16) and complete games (11) while being second in WHIP (1.12) and third in wins (8) and ERA (2.01). The Lions have also showcased strong defense through 23 games this season, as Penn State Altoona leads the AMCC in fielding percentage (.975) while committing a league-low 16 errors.

The Behrend Lions kept their AMCC record unblemished with a pair of wins at Pitt-Bradford on Tuesday. Behrend did not allow a single run over the two games thanks to the defensive and pitching of Abby Tingley and Kayla Lindberg. Tingley and Lindberg combined for 17 strikeouts and only four hits, as Tingley gave up one hit and fanned eight, while Lindberg struck out nine and allowed three hits. Sierra Williams went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run scored in game two. The Lions are tied for 14th in the NCAA Division III statistics in double plays per game (0.46) and tied for 22nd in triples per game (0.54). Jocelyn McNany and Kayla Salvini each have four triples on the season. Meghan Petitte was named the AMCC Player of the Week this past Monday after she tallied 13 hits, 10 runs, eight RBI, two doubles, two triples and two home runs in a 5-1 week last week. Petitte smacked a home run in each game vs. La Roche and had multiple hits in all six games.
