Penn State Behrend junior pitcher Ashleigh Schmidt threw a no-hitter on Tuesday night in an 11-0 victory over Medaille College in five innings.

Schmidt recorded the first softball no-hitter since the 2009 season when Emma Hahn threw one against Pitt-Bradford in five innings. Schmidt is just the fifth player in Behrend history to pitch a no-hitter. She threw five complete innings against the Mavericks yesterday, pitching to 17 batters for 42 strikes out of 67 pitches.
